It was a sunshiney public holiday, so my family and I decided to hop aboard a ferry and wander the beautiful island of Waiheke.
The large island bursts with artistic flare. Sculptures, art galleries, and paintings are easy to spot around Waiheke amongst bustling cafes and sparkling beaches.
We slowly followed a bush trail that cut through beautiful native bush. Some trees stood handsome and tall, proud to call Waiheke their home. Others were thin and delicate. They gracefully guided us to a small town called Oneroa.
Waiheke is a beautiful island with lots to do. You can leisurely stroll the sculpture trail, sip coffee and lick strawberry gelato whilst admiring the calender-picture-like view, rent out paddle boards or kayaks and venture out into the blue, or delve into a good book under the shade of a Pohutukawa tree.
I am definitely going back to hunt for more beautiful gems hidden on the island and I think you should too.
