Sometimes, we let lots of “big things” fill up so much our lives, or allow little things to inflate so big that we lose sight and become ignorant of the many little things we are ever so blessed to have. Here are the “little” things I’ve learned to appreciate the most recently, albeit they sit with many other things considered necessities to contemporary human existence and survival not-mentioned-but-still-appreciated.
Friends who can make me laugh, and who I can make laugh too.
It’s a connection not always found, a connection that’s missing when we first meet people, the reason friends are nice to be around, the reason I would occasionally rather not talk to strangers, sometimes the only reason I smile. (ooft deep).
We all go through stressful times in our lives. Usually, exams are a blast for me (‘study’ periods, time off school, waking up late and having to focus for only a few hours :’) ), however this time around, that hasn’t been the case. I can’t quite describe why, but I’ve been swaying back and forth across the border between “life is great” and “what’s the point in anything” for a while now. I guess it’s mix of everything, newly frequent dance classes, real exams that mean [very little but still] something, a quest to constantly be constructive and productive, and a very foggy, hormonal, not-yet-developed teenage brain.
I wouldn’t describe this situation as feeling like chaos, or a cliché whirlwind. Instead, it feels more like a wasteland. Like piles of faded-brown scraps and debris littered across a desert, as far as the eye can see; and your job is to pick up each piece of rusted metal, every last sundried magazine clipping. It feels like life is one big task that seems so impossible, filled with thousands and thousands of little things we must do… Yeah, the teenage heart ain’t fond of responsibility.
Despite it all (oh, this difficult first world teenage life we live), we push through; and here are somethings that have been keeping sane/happy/alive:
Throughout June my life was jam packed with schoolwork, but at the same time each week presented me with an opportunity to celebrate and spend quality time with friends.
4 weeks. 4 parties. 3 outfits + this one.
Let me know if you guys would like to see more fashion related videos or more of anything else!
Ahhhh the summer time. For most, that means vacations, beach time, and finally getting to take off layers of clothing.
In Singapore, where its 25-30° C on a regular basis during ‘winter’, summer means more humidity, more heat, and more hoes wearing even less clothing. #croppedcroptops
And more sweat.
which you can see in the video.
In all seriousness I hope you’re all having a fantastic summer (or winter, which I’m currently experiencing in New Zealand- my first winter in two years!) and you’re enjoying life in every aspect!
Hey guys, long time no talk!
My friend’s birthday is coming up, so to celebrate my friends and I went out for a classy pizza dinner and a totally un-fancy sleepover. Here’s what we wore that night:
Sorry I haven’t posted for a bit, I’ve been busy finishing up assessments and putting off assessments and spending time with friends 🙂
I hope you’re all pumped for summer/ enjoying the cold (after two years in Singapore, I would kill for weather below 20°… or even just seasons!)
This spring we’ve been seeing the traditional florals in cooler, resort-style shades as well as black and white colour-blocking and geometric prints. Sooo, I came up with a fairly simple nail design inspired by this spring’s trends.
If you don’t have a striper brush or dotting tool, watch the linked cutepolish videos for a full DIY tutorial!
Much love & happy painting ☻
